Liquid crystal displays (LCD, OLED)
Liquid crystal displays are the leading display technology. So-called liquid crystal cells are used here. Each pixel is made up of three liquid crystal cells (red, green, blue). Color pigments form a layer that is only a few µm thick. The light intensity and therefore the pixel color can be changed on each cell by changing the applied voltage. Pigments must be as fine as possible, colorfast and lightfast, translucent and highly pure. Otherwise, a uniform and sharp image cannot be produced.
The high-quality DISPERMAT® and TORUSMILL® dispersion and grinding machines from VMA-Getzmann have already proven themselves in this field. For example, using different functions of the basket mill, you can grind several different color pigments with a single machine, without risking contamination from paint residues of a previous batch.
