Product volumes are based on medium viscosity. The actual volume may differ depending on the flow behaviour of the product. All instruments can be supplied with different working voltages.

Basket mill with integrated pumping wheel for excellent milling results

The basket mill TORUSMILL® SK is a milling system for fine grinding of 50 up to 1300 litres. The technology of the basket mill conforms as far as possible to the TORUSMILL® TM-CC. Whereas with the basket mill TORUSMILL® TM-CC the pre-dispersion is made by a dissolver disc and the fine grinding is made with the basket milling system, the TORUSMILL® SK has been modified on order to grind exclusively as a milling system. A pre dispersion with a dissolver disc is not possible.

The TORUSMILL® SK is a basket mill where the milling basket filled with milling beads is lowered into predispersed mill base. During the operation the milling basket stands still while the shaft on which the pump wheel, the milling tool and the dissolver disc are fixed, is rotating. By means of the milling tool the milling beads are moved within the basket mill and the mill base is dispersed.

The separation of the beads/millbase is ensured by a sieve in the bottom of the milling basket. The dissolver disc and above all the pump wheel, which is built into the milling basket, ensure exceptional circulation of the mill base and that excellent milling results are achieved very quickly.

The TORUSMILL® SK is fitted with the SK-control.

  With solvent free products the TORUSMILL® SK can be operated with an open container.
  
  
• Cover with lamp, opening and scraper system as an option:
  However, due to safety reasons the TORUSMILL® SK can be equipped with a simple cover. During the milling process the cover lies tight on the container due to an intelligent feature; when raising the basket the cover is dragged with it. The diameter of the cover is selected in such a way that containers with different diameters can be covered safely. The cover can be fitted with container illumination, a locking opening for adding the product respectively for sucking off dust and fume and with a scraper system.

  For vacuum operation or for solvent based products using of a completely closed cover is essential.

Fine grinding with the basket mill TORUSMILL® SK

The container with the liquid component is moved into position under the TORUSMILL® SK. The dissolver disc is lowered down into the liquid.		The TORUSMILL® SK now starts the actual dispersion process for extremely fine grinding. When the dissolver disc and the milling system are located above the product surface, product residue in the grinding basket is centrifuged out by briefly running the milling and dissolver discs.		The milling system is now completely raised and the container with the ground finished product is removed. Cleaning the milling system is carried out in a separate conical container in order to minimise the required amount of cleaning fluid.

The basket mill TORUSMILL® SK is also available in an explosion proof version according to ATEX. The functions of the explosion proof control panel are identical with the above mentioned SK control.
